Dr Joseph Ross
Joseph founded Rossnet to provide the kind of independent, credentialled AI advisory that most organisations cannot access through their existing networks. His background spans a Royal Navy-sponsored doctorate in Digital Transformation and AI, senior operational leadership in cyber resilience, and active academic engagement — all of it applied directly in client engagements.
As a Chartered IT Professional and Fellow of the British Computer Society, he advises boards, leadership teams, and investment portfolios on AI governance, assurance, and strategy. Every engagement is led personally. Clients receive the expertise they engage, throughout the engagement.

Founded and leads an independent AI governance and advisory consultancy providing board-level advice on AI strategy, governance, assurance, cyber resilience, and digital transformation. Clients include private sector boards, investment portfolios, and public sector organisations.
Services span AI Management System implementation to ISO 42001, AI assurance and gap analysis, sovereign AI capability for sensitive environments, vCAIO fractional leadership, and full digital transformation programmes.
Principal Investigator role in sovereign and edge LLM workflows — research and delivery work conducted under an AI and automation research engagement with the Ministry of Defence.
Conducted PhD research in active partnership with the Royal Navy, examining AI adoption, governance frameworks, and human-machine teaming in high-stakes operational environments. Research placed Rossnet's AI expertise in genuine defence and security contexts, not purely academic ones.
Directed the police-led Cyber Resilience Centre for the South West, providing cyber advisory services to SMEs and critical national infrastructure organisations across the region, alongside responsibility for the Centre's technology and finance functions.
Lectured in Computer Science and Digital Technologies at university level. Retains active engagement with academic research and the academic community.
